Carlo Acutis Leichnam

Pope Francis has approved a miracle attributed to Blessed Carlo Acutis

The miracle is related to a woman from Costa Rica

Carlo Acutis, who died from cancer at the age of 15 in 2006, could become the first millennial saint after Pope Francis attributed two health miracles to Blessed Carlo's intercession. The miracle recognized on Thursday is related to a woman from Costa Rica who was suffering from a serious illness.

Acutis was born in London in 1991 and was raised in Italy

He was diagnosed with leukemia in 2006 and died just a few months later. Despite his illness, Acutis was known for his cheerful disposition and his deep faith. He spent much of his time volunteering at his local church and helping the poor and homeless.

Acutis was also a computer whiz and created a website to help people learn about the Catholic faith. He was known as "God's influencer" because of his ability to use social media to spread the Gospel.

Acutis's cause for canonization was opened in 2013, and he was declared Venerable by Pope Francis in 2018. The recognition of a second miracle attributed to Acutis's intercession is the final step in the canonization process. Acutis could be canonized as a saint later this year.
