Pope Francis recognizes second miracle for beatification of Blessed Carlo Acutis

Pope Francis has recognized a second miracle attributed to the intercession of Blessed Carlo Acutis, paving the way for his canonization.

The Italian teenager, who died of leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15, is known for his devotion to the Eucharist and his use of technology to spread the Gospel.

In 2020, Pope Francis recognized the first miracle attributed to Acutis' intercession, the healing of a Brazilian boy from a rare pancreatic disease. The second miracle, recognized on May 23, 2024, involved the healing of a young girl from Italy from a life-threatening illness.

With the recognition of the second miracle, Acutis is now one step closer to becoming a saint. The Vatican has not yet announced a date for his canonization, but it is expected to take place in the coming years.

Acutis was born in London in 1991 to Italian parents. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 2006 and died just a few months later. During his illness, he offered his suffering for the sick and for the conversion of sinners.

Acutis was a devout Catholic and had a deep love for the Eucharist. He also had a passion for technology and used it to create websites and videos about his faith. He is known as the "patron saint of the internet" and is a role model for young people who want to use technology for good.
