California rocked by 4.4 magnitude earthquake

Southern California was shaken by a 4.4-magnitude earthquake on Monday afternoon.

The quake's epicenter was located near Highland Park, a neighborhood in Los Angeles County not far from the famous Hollywood sign and the Griffith Observatory.

The quake was felt across a wide area of Southern California, including Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Bernardino County. There were no immediate reports of any damage or injuries.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake struck at 12:20 p.m. Pacific Time. It had a depth of 5.1 miles.

The USGS said there is a low probability of aftershocks following this quake. However, the agency said it is possible that smaller quakes could occur in the area in the coming days or weeks.
