A Look at the 2023 Season

The Indiana Fever of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) ended their 2023 season with a record of 13-27, finishing sixth in the Eastern Conference. Despite a disappointing finish, the team showed signs of improvement throughout the campaign.

The Fever were led by forward Victoria Vivians, who averaged 17.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Vivians was named to the All-WNBA Second Team for her efforts.

Other key players for the Fever included guard Aaliyah Boston, forward Bria Holmes, and center Emily Engstler. Boston averaged 14.5 points and 4.8 assists per game, while Holmes averaged 12.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. Engstler averaged 10.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.

The Fever struggled defensively in 2023, allowing 85.2 points per game. The team also struggled to shoot the ball, hitting just 42.9% from the field and 32.2% from three-point range.

Despite the struggles, the Fever showed signs of improvement throughout the season. The team won four of their last seven games, including a victory over the Chicago Sky, who went on to win the WNBA championship.

The Fever are hoping to build on their success in 2023 and make a run at the playoffs in 2024. The team will have a new head coach in Christie Sides, who was hired from the Atlanta Dream.
